Our most recent meeting
On the first Wednesday of October 2018 we had another fascinating meeting.
To put us all in a good mood we watched and listened to a video of Pam Ayres recounting her venture into talent shows and her poem about
and embarrassing experience with a parrot.
Later in the meeting we welcomed and heard Prof Ivan Donaldson. Few, if any of those present, would have had any first hand experience of the demands and trials of creating a vineyard and winery. We soon found out how much research and effort (some by trial and error) goes into finding a suitable site, planting, nurturing and then harvesting grapes for winemaking
By the end of his presentation, we not only had a great deal better understanding of what is involved, but also appreciated his and his family’s efforts and were quite clear that a similar venture was not for us.
An inspiring presentation enjoyed by all.
